With the spring arrival, after the long winter, we were all willing to go for a trip with our classics, and what could be better than Castile to enjoy them, with a group of good friends and surrounded by the hundreds of tonalities of green that show after an intense winter of snow and rain.
Neither the adverse weather nor the multiple breakdowns managed to mist a nice weekend organized by Classics on the Road concerning one of the more important Spanish works of engineering of the beginning of the 19th century: The Channel of Castile.
We had the opportunity to circulate with our Renault 4/4 following its course, and visiting some of the best samples of the Romanesque architecture, in localities as Frómista or Carrión de los Condes. We cruised the channel in the river boat, using the sluices and we had the opportunity to taste delicious dishes such as lechazo (lamb) and tocino de cielo (a local dessert) in the restaurants that Classics on the Road selected for us. |
